Bite Me

★ 8.8/10 fav: I Always Lose released Jul 03, 2026

big fan of the heavy/distorted synths, gives me similar vibes of apistat or SMILE! :D. a lot of awesome bass tones as well. feels super heavy and sounds great. a couple melodies feel a little off when they hit just from where i'm expecting it to go but the songs are still fun (re: the intro of eat me alive is cool af but the verse sounds off. i think i just like the staccato beats more). shit ton of vore references so idk if i can say i like it without reinforcing the already established beliefs.

Small Steps, Heavy Hooves

★ 9/10 fav: Oh No! | It's Gettin' Easy released Feb 06, 2007

reminds me of bright eyes. very fun 3rd wave revival stuff. some of my favorite guitar writing with the multiguitar composition in Eb standard. The Early November and them remind me of somewhat similar when it comes to the arrangements. no bad songs even with a few mids. also sweet talk being super fun to play probably gave it a few bonus points

In the Attic of the Universe

★ 10/10 fav: In the Attic of the Universe released Nov 06, 2007

Probably the album I've come back to more than Peter's others. Not as heavy as something like Hospice but lordy I love 'In the Attic' and just how the album flows. 'The Universe...' was one of the things that helped verbalize a few of the things I was having issue with in therapy at the beginning. In an effort to not type a lot, I'll just say that if there was ever an album from The Antlers that I loved listening to beginning to end it would be this one.
